Behind Inspection Strux

One inspector, one method, one point of contact

You are not talking to a call centre. Once your quote has been accepted, a single point of contact takes charge of your file, answers your questions, carries out the inspection, writes your report and remains available for follow-up after the inspection.

Portrait of Jean-Benoit Toupin, building inspector

A career built on experience

For 15 years, Jean-Benoit has worked in emergency services, notably with teams specializing in structural collapse. This has led him to respond to a range of situations involving unusual structures, where analysis, recognizing failures and identifying problems play a central role.

A graduate in carpentry and joinery, he spent several years working in construction and renovation. Among other things, he carried out several complete building renovations, from demolition through to finishing work. That hands-on involvement gave him a concrete understanding of construction methods, assemblies and the various components that lie behind visible surfaces. These projects also led him to work alongside many trades, and to plan and coordinate the different phases of the work.

Jean-Benoit also holds a diploma in building inspection technology and has several years of experience as a property manager. He is currently completing an AEC (attestation of college studies) in building mechanical systems inspection to deepen his knowledge. Over the course of his career, he has built a diverse network of construction professionals, including general contractors, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, masons, roofers, foundation and building mechanical specialists, and excavation and landscaping contractors. This network keeps him in touch with the realities of each trade and lets him consult qualified professionals when a situation calls for it.

Building inspection brings together everything that drives him professionally: understanding how a building works, paying close attention to detail, and supporting clients through an important decision. Always eager to learn, Jean-Benoit sees this profession as one that demands continual learning. It is this drive to keep improving that guides his practice and every mandate entrusted to him.

The approach

Three principles that show up in every mandate.

01

Explain so you can understand

Each observation is presented in accessible language to help you understand the apparent condition of the building, the items that deserve your attention and the next steps to consider.

02

Focus on what matters

Every building has its particularities. Our role is to bring out the most relevant observations so that you can better understand the property, plan the necessary work and make informed decisions.

03

Stay available after the inspection

Our support does not end when the report is delivered. We remain available to answer your questions and to help you better understand the observations presented in it.
